Do I Have a Case?

If you have suffered a serious injury or wrongful death due to someone else's fault in causing an accident, or due to medical malpractice, a defective product or drug, police brutality or any other form of negligence, you have a right to sue for damages for your pain, suffering, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life, as well as past and future lost earnings, loss of support, medical bills and any other economic damages you sustain.

Immediate investigation of your case could make the difference between winning and losing. Evidence, records and witnesses can disappear, and critical evidence can be lost.
Some claims must be made within 30-days.

Call us for a free consultation as soon as you can, because time is of the essence.

What to do after an accident

Seek medical attention immediately- victims are often unaware of the extent of their injuries due to shock.

Get information identifying the person that caused the accident and any witnesses and write it down.

Take pictures (with your cell phone if necessary) to document the accident and your injuries.

Write your own account of the accident while it is fresh in your memory and list contact information for any witnesses.

Do not give any verbal or written statements to investigators or insurance companies.

Do not sign any documents offered by insurance adjusters. You could be signing away your rights to receive full compensation.

Contact the Law Firm of Jonathan C. Reiter as soon as you can, so that we can conduct an immediate investigation and file whatever papers are needed to protect your legal rights. A prompt investigation could make the difference between winning and losing your case, so do not delay.

Chiquita Banana Terrorism Case

The Law Firm of Jonathan C. Reiter has filed a historic $12 billion lawsuit against Chiquita Brands International, Inc. (Chiquita Banana) to recover damages for the murders and torture of over 600 victims of terrorism in the Republic of Colombia, South America.  Chiquita is sought to be held liable for providing money and weapons to a terrorist group called the AUC (Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia) that committed these heinous acts.  In March of 2007, Chiquita plead guilty to a federal indictment charging it with making illegal payments to the AUC in violation of United States anti-terrorism laws. Chiquita was assessed a $25 million fine by the United States government. The Law Firm of Jonathan C. Reiter has filed this civil lawsuit to obtain fair and just monetary compensation for the victims of AUC terrorism that was aided and abetted by Chiquita, a United States corporation with a long history of involvement in Latin America.

September 11, 2001 Attack on the World Trade Center

Jonathan C. Reiter was deeply involved in representing the families of victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.[1]  In this connection, a lawsuit was brought challenging the regulations issued by the United States government regarding the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund and their implementation by the Special Master, alleging that the amount of compensation for economic loss being awarded was inadequate. Jonathan C. Reiter personally argued the case before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, resulting in a decision that rejected any arbitrary limit on economic damages and directed that the Special Master consider the full amount of economic loss suffered by each family. (See Schneider v. Feinberg, 345 F.3d 135 (2nd Cir. 2003).
